I am an art quilter who discovered how to make “fabric pottery” in 2008. After I acquired a large stash of Marimekko fabric, I temporarily abandoned quilts and started making bowls and vases night and day. In 2011 I started selling at art festivals and on Etsy.
I still make art quilts with my group, the Extreme Quilters of Southern California. The quilts are gradually getting a little fancier as I teach myself to do things like free motion quilting. In 2016 I will go to my first Empty Spools seminar and maybe start catching up with my sewing buddies.
